How to buy
Buying jewelry can be fun, exciting and confusing. Whether you're considering jewelry to give someone special or for yourself, spend some time learning the terminology we use in the jewelry industry. Our best guarantee is to teach how to buy jewelry:
1 -. The word "gold" means pure gold or gold of 24 carats. As the 24-karat gold is soft, it is usually mixed with other metals to increase its hardness and durability. If a piece of jewelry is not 24-carat gold, the karat quality should accompany any statement that certifies that the article is made of gold.
The mark of quality carat tells us what proportion of gold is mixed with other metals. The jewels of 18 karat (18K) contains 75% of 24K gold, mixed with base metal such as silver and palladium of 25%. The higher the karat rating, the higher the proportion of gold in the piece of jewelry.
We do not recommend for high jewelry less than 18K.
2 -. The gemstones can be measured by weight, size or both. The basic unit to weigh gem is the carat that is equivalent to one fifth (1 / 5) of a gram. The carat is divided into 100 units called points. For example, a half-carat gem should weight .50-karat or 50 points. When gemstones are measured by dimensions, the size is expressed in millimeters (for example, 7x5 millimeters).
The treatment of gemstones or improvements are related to the way in which some gems are treated to improve their appearance or durability or to change its color. Most gemstones are treated in some way.
The value of a diamond is based on four criteria: color, cut, clarity and carat.
Cut
The way it wich a diamond are cutted and polished is vital. Is the art and the precision of the diamond that dictates the maximum amount of light that is reflected and refracted through it. When a diamond is cut with good proportions, light is reflected internally from one facet to another and then dispersed through the crown or top of the diamond.
Color
At first glance, the diamonds are colorless, but there are several subtle differences in tone and the with the most absence of color, the more valuable the diamond becomes. We do not recommend buying diamonds below on the scale of H, since them would be diamonds with yellowish and clear tones of much less value.

Purity
Thanks to its nature, every diamond is unique. Each has its individuality. This may be because of small traces of other minerals trapped during the crystallization process.
These natural features called "inclusions" are described as the footprints of nature and help gemologists to determine the age of a diamond. The quantity, color, origin, size and position of any inclusion determines the purity of a diamond.
Having fewer inclusions, are considered more rare and reflects greater amount of light, making it more valuable. Since it is very rare to find a diamond that has no inclusions, the less you have, the greater its value.
We do not recommend buying diamonds from below Si1 on the scale, since they would be diamonds with yellowish tones and with much less value.
Carat Weight
The weight of a diamond is really simple to measure, and since ancient times has been used to calculate a value of a diamond. The carat is a unit of weight that derives from the seeds of the carob tree. The pods of mesquite or acacia tree, containing small seeds that are extremely consistent in its weight. These seeds were used by ancient traders to weigh gem diamonds.A one carat diamond was equivalent to the weight of a carob seed, but in modern terms, the carat weight is a measure of standard of 0.2 grams. Each carat is divided into 100 points. So for example, a quarter-carat equals 25 points, written as 0.25; half carat equals 50 points, or 0.50, and so on.
